about

This jazzy piece by Lyndsay Pruett is something refreshingly different for the Trio, and one of the highlights of the record. The tune has a quirky, infectious theme that is explored throughout the song. The somewhat deconstructed treatment of this piece allows the Trio to shine in all of its subtle glory. From Jon’s initial chordal melody, to Lyndsay’s weaving, vulnerable violin, to Patrick’s tasteful brushwork, this tune represents some of the Trio’s greatest strengths.

But in the Jon Stickley Trio, with the fiddler Lyndsay Pruett and the drummer Hunter Deacon, he also bounces around in Gypsy jazz, folk-punk and jam-band territory, tracing a fidgety continuity of style.” -The New York Times, Nate Chinen ... more
