about

Jerusalem Ridge is one of Bill Monroe’s most famous tunes. It was famously played, and allegedly co-written by the greatest Bluegrass fiddler of all time, Kenny Baker, and has also been recorded on guitar by many greats including, Tony Rice. As artists who hold Bluegrass music very close to their hearts, the Trio felt compelled to record a version of this tune that has become a staple of their live show. As you will hear, they put their own distinctive spin on it, but did so with the utmost respect for the spirit of Bluegrass fiddle music.

But in the Jon Stickley Trio, with the fiddler Lyndsay Pruett and the drummer Hunter Deacon, he also bounces around in Gypsy jazz, folk-punk and jam-band territory, tracing a fidgety continuity of style.” -The New York Times, Nate Chinen ... more
